Claire
With retail running through her Scottish veins, Claire is a mum to Stella, an avid storyteller and lover of all things fashion.
With over 30 years’ experience in the retail game, Claire has worked in senior sales and marketing roles at Calvin Klein Cosmetics in the UK, and headed up retail at Mecca Cosmetica and G-Star in Australia. In 2010 Claire started her own retail consultancy, working with many great clients including Lululemon, Kookai and Topshop.
When she’s not helping retailers ignite their passion and learn practical skills to become great retailers, you can find her running, listening to country music or enjoying the sunshine with her family.
Abiramie
After various retail jobs throughout high-school and uni, Abiramie (Aba) kicked-off a career in retail HR on the Coles HR Graduate program. Here she found her sweet-spot – helping people achieve their best in the most fun and exciting industry (not biased at all) out there!
After 4 years at Coles Group working across all areas in HR, she co-founded her HR Consultancy in 2010 – E&I People Solutions where she continues to work with great brands of all sizes – from startups to more established retailers.
Now she adds School of Retail to her list of passions which, let’s be honest, mainly revolve around food. Oh and a little jet-setting around the world when she can too.
Janelle
Team experience expert, retail lover and pilates go-er, Janelle is also a mum to two kids and prides herself on her warm approach and her ability to help people recognise their own potential.
A movie buff from way back, Janelle’s first job was at Village Cinemas before completing her studies and deciding on a career in Retail HR.
Janelle spent 6.5 years with the Coles Group where she worked her way across all areas of HR, as well as being selected for a number of key commercial business projects. After leaving Coles Group, she worked as the Head of HR for G-Star stores before co-founding E&I People Solutions and subsequently the School Of Retail.

The New Class of Retail program is perfect for small bite-sized classes that have very clear categories and agendas. I feel this kind of training works well with our team as full-day training is often overwhelming and once the afternoon hits, the class has often stopped concentrating!
Our team look forward to the 1-hour sessions and love the fact they are spread out yet consistent.
Many of the areas SOR delve into are latent in our retail approach but now there is definitely more mindfulness and awareness in our management method. It’s practical and in real time and I love the accountability piece. There is a feedback loop as our team are given “homework” in which they breakdown and discuss in the following class.
